Alright, the Signup Deadline has come and gone, so how are we looking? Not bad, I'd say. 31 of our 43 unique players from 2010 have confirmed that they'll be BACK in 2011, and a few others might still be able to claim their Tier-2 spot if they act quickly. We have 13 new folks that will join us in 2011, so that's 44 total spots filled, which is great.
So now what? Well, first I should point out that ONE of our illustrious Tier-1 members has decided NOT to return for 2011, so that means we've got an open slot. I'd love to hear feedback on how we should decide who gets it, but we might do something fun like have a contest or something.
Next -- we have 16 slots still open in Tier-2 at this moment, and I expect a few more returning players will end up signing up. But there's a great opportunity here: if anyone wants to get a whole league together and join Tier-2, you better jump on it and do it now. You will be guaranteed that at least 4 people in your league will either stay in Tier-2 or move up to Tier-1 for 2012 when the prizes start getting pretty damn good. Drop me a line if you're interested. Also, if anyone in Tier-1 wants a second team in Tier-2 to improve your overall odds, you can do that now (Tier-2 guys can also join Tier-3 with a second team if you decide you want to).
Now, we're still going to need a TON of people to sign up to fill 252 total spots, but we'll get there. Frankly, I expect things to be a little slow at least until the CBA gets sorted out, and realistically most people won't have Fantasy Fever again until July or August. So for now, if everyone could think of just one person -- you must know someone -- that you might be able to get to join us, we could double our numbers. We're going all word-of-mouth for now as we want to keep this somewhat close to the vest until the PFFL is really ready to go HUGE, so any help you can offer will get this thing rolling.
